Specialising in bird watching, wildlife and bushwalking but very experienced at designing and leading tours for groups with an interest in combining walking, wildlife, landscapes, culture, history and any other special interests. Tour duration from half day to many weeks for any size group,including individuals, but with a preference for small groups. All tours custom designed to suit the needs of the clients. Also scheduled birding tours to Western Queensland and Northern Australia and ecological field study programmes for tertiary education groups including the University of Georgia Athens (USA) and Bond University. Holder of Commercial Operators Permit for Queensland National Parks and the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk, Scientific Purposes (Qld) and Wildlife Rehabilitation (Spotter Catcher) Permits and Qld Transport Operators Accreditation. Barry Davies, owner and principal Guide, has over 25 years experience as a Naturalist, tour leader, and interpretive, bushwalking and adventure Guide including many years at Binna Burra Lodge in Lamington NP. He was the Ecotourism Australia Australian EcoGuide of the Year in 2005 and won the Gold Coast Tourism Supreme Hospitality Award in 1993. He has qualifications in science, training, outdoor leadership, wilderness first aid, vertical rescue and has a bus licence. Consulting services provided by Gondwana Guides include Tour Guide training, Ecotour design, development and assessment, Flora and Fauna surveys and management and Spotter Catcher.
