Welcome to the Autumn 2011 Sustainable Scenic Rim eNews. As I write there’s just a touch of cooler air in the early mornings at Beechmont and Binna Burra. Are you feeling it yet to the west of the Scenic Rim region at Boonah or Aratula? Possibly not quite yet... What a start to the year we’ve had here in Queensland. Incredibly, our region has so far been spared the destructive weather that’s hit so much of this state. Our sympathy and wishes for a fast recovery go out to our fellow Qlders north and west of the Scenic Rim. The development of ecological and social/community resilience is certainly on our minds these days, as is the increasingly visible connection between greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, warmer ocean temperatures and regional weather patterns. The earth is indeed a living, interconnected system and we are all part of her web of life. Many of the articles in this eNews reflect this systems-based thinking and the connection we feel here in the Scenic Rim between our neighbourhoods, communities and our incredible landscape. These newsletters are produced seasonally. If you would like to contribute to our Winter edition which will be produced in late May 2011, please contact Sally MacKinnon at the Ethos Foundation: sally@ethosfoundation.org You’re receiving this eNews because you have subscribed to the Sustainable Scenic Rim website and mailing list but if you decide you no longer want to receive these seasonal newsletters, just click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email. Here’s what we have for you in this edition:
