The annual Arts in the Olives Festival, held on Mother’s Day May 8 at Lost World Valley, proved to be another runaway success for the Beaudesert And District Community Arts Project (BADCAP), the businesses and community of Lost World Valley and the creative artists of the Scenic Rim. Congratulations to the amazing team of locals who host this amazing festival!

The day was filled with arts, crafts, music, local food and people who live and love creativity.

Workshops included painting, drawing, felting, batik, weaving, photography, blacksmithing, poetry, basketry, mosaics and more.

Market stalls were filled with handmade crafts from regional artisans, scrumptious local food and artwork.

Music was created by emerging and established bands and singer/songwriters from the Scenic Rim.

“The Rim” community art and ecology project was also launched with the creation of the first community artwork by regional artists Dave Groom, John Jackson, poet Sally MacKinnon and over 60 people who helped paint the project’s first fabric painting. This painting will be included in “The Rim’s” community exhibition at The Centre, Beaudesert in 2012.
