REGISTRATIONS for the Scenic Rim ArtYakka Workshops 2011 Are now OPEN!

WHAT: Learn about developing commmunity arts projects & share arts stories. The 2011 ArtsYakka Workshops will explore the characteristics of successful arts practice and increase the understanding of how the arts can be used to meet the challenges in regional communities. Participants will consider artistic solutions for future projects that engage their communities in reflections on resilience, helping to plan for a thriving future for your region.

WHO: The workshops provide a framework for artists, volunteer community culture and recreation groups, specialist groups, local government, business and media to plan a resilient future while acknowledging memorable stories of past successes.

Facilitator DR ROS DERRET OAM has an ongoing close connection with regional communities in Queensland for over 30 years. She has enjoyed working closely with Queensland Arts Council and Arts Queensland on important projects like regional forums, community cultural development, local government policy and strategy development and the Qld Arts and Cultural Tourism Strategy.

Please note that as in the past QAC are intending to have a Sunday breakfast meeting for Local Arts Council’s business only and hosted by the Regional Director.
