Landcare’s free farming information website, www.informedfarmers.com has grown rapidly since the project started in October 2010.
It is on track this month to have 64,000 visitors and over 1.4 million hits on the site which has over 2,300 articles posted on most aspects of farming and rural life. Visitors are coming to Informed Farmers from all over the world and include a strong representation of Australian and New Zealand farmers.
Editor Gary Hutchinson said, “Informed Farmer’s policy is to include landcare and natural resource management material as an important part of farming and rural life because landcare works best if it is integrated with normal farm management decisions and practices rather than being treated as something extra to be considered only when farming is at a more profitable and comfortable stage.
“We would like to offer editorial space to Landcare groups to publicise their activities and celebrate their successes.
“This is a great opportunity to expose your activities and the Landcare philosophy to a very large and much wider worldwide rural audience so I hope many Landcare groups will consider participating,” Gary said.
