The Boonah Organisation for a Sustainable Shire (BOSS) is committed to looking for new and interesting ways to recycle and keep things from landfill.
Our newest recycling venture involves collecting old and worn out runners for the Nike Reuse a Shoe Campaign. These are ground up into Nike Grind and completely recycled to create new athletic shoes, as well as running tracks, fitness flooring and playground surfaces. We’re happy to save all those runners from becoming landfill and organise to give them a new life.
Any old running shoes can be dropped off at the Boonah State School in Park Street Boonah, at David Bland Picture Framing at 6 Macquarie Street Boonah or at World Environment Day at the Outlook on Saturday 4 June.
Alternatively anyone around the region can organise their own collection and deliver them to the Nike Factory Store at Arundel. See their website for more details.
More information on recycling opportunities can be found on the BOSS Recycling Register.
