Eat Local Week is a week-long celebration of local food in the Scenic Rim area between June 24 and June 30 2011.
We are now only a few weeks away from the first event of Eat Local Week, which highlights our local food production, local farms and growers groups as well as our local business! It is certainly getting very exciting!
The focus will be on products grown on our local farms, local ingredients used in our restaurants, and the organisations and people who are making locally-grown food more accessible in the Scenic Rim community.
From Friday 24 June to Thursday 30 June producers, retailers, visitors and residents can participate in an array of events that celebrate and plan for sustainable and easily accessible local food.
From an urban foraging adventure, to cooking classes, edible garden tours, community garden meetings and producer forums, and community festivals, Eat Local week will inspire all of us to incorporate eating and buying locally produced food into our everyday lives.
