www.scenicrimescapes.com.au/scenic-rim-low-carbon-diet.html
Tourism operators within The Scenic Rim are invited to a series of free workshops to improve their business sustainability for better efficiency and real dollar savings. The workshops will educate and challenge the participants to make real reductions in the carbon footprint of their business operations. Some outcomes of this innovative approach include improved ability to reap financial savings and stabilise resource costs, and preparation for climate change and declining resources. All these pro-active steps will position your tourism business to be more competitive and viable now and into the future.
Australia’s Green Cauldron – National Landscapes Program
www.australia.com/promotions/nl_greencauldreon_en.aspx
Launched in 2006 by Tourism Australia and Parks Australia to promote the best of Australia to the overseas tourist market, Australia’s Green Cauldron stretches from northern New South Wales to the Scenic Rim Region and east to the Gold Coast. The Green Cauldron encompasses Mt Warning/Wollumbin, the Border Ranges, Lamington National Park, Springbrook, Tamborine Mountain and much of the Scenic Rim. Australia’s Green Cauldron working group and committee has representatives from six local governments including Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Tweed, Lismore, Kyogle and Byron Bay with Tweed Tourism acting as administrator. The working group is leading the development of a tourism master plan which aims to balance the long-term economic benefits of tourism with the community and conservation values of the area.
Rainforest Way
The Rainforest Way is an exciting new series of drives that lets you explore the spectacular World Heritage listed Rainforests and National Parks in the unique hinterland of Northern NSW and South East Queensland.
These suggested drives make it easy to discover this area and its natural, cultural and historic attractions. Whether you decide to explore only one of these trails or take a few days to discover it all, you’ll find everything you need along the way to make this an enjoyable journey.

‘Sustainability’ can be a big, fuzzy word. It’s been used, abused, muddled and sometimes made meaningless, so don’t be too worried if you’re not sure what it means right now.
